USPS Holiday Shipping Rate Increase Starts October 18

The Postal Regulatory Commission has approved a temporary holiday shipping rate increase that will be in effect from Sunday, October 18 though Sunday, December 27. The rate increase will impact five mail classes for shippers using Commercial Base pricing – Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, First Class Package Service, Parcel Select and Parcel Return Service. There will be no holiday rate increase for customers who purchase postage at the Post Office (retail).

Priority Mail: Packages sent with Priority Mail Commercial will see a flat 40 cent increase for all weights and zones. Shipping rates will begin at $7.42.

Priority Mail Express: Packages sent with Priority Mail Express Commercial will see a flat $1.50 increase for all weights and zones. Shipping rates will begin at $23.25.

First Class Package Service Commercial: Packages sent with First Class Package Service Commercial will see a flat 25 cent increase for all weights and zones. Shipping rates will begin at $2.99.

Parcel Select Ground: Packages sent with Parcel Select Ground will see a flat 40 cent increase for all weights and zones. Shipping rates will begin at $7.32.

Parcel Return Service: Packages sent with Parcel Return Service will see a flat 24 cent increase for all weights and zones. Shipping rates will begin at $3.29.

Endicia customers will automatically see the new rates reflected in the Endicia software beginning Oct. 18, 2020 at 12 a.m. Central time.
