USPS HOLIDAY SHIPPING RATE INCREASE STARTS OCTOBER 3

The U.S. Postal Service will be implementing a temporary holiday shipping rate increase that will start Sunday, October 3, 2021 and will end on Sunday, December 26, 2021. The rate increase will impact five mail classes for shippers using Commercial Base pricing (buying postage online) – Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, First Class Package Service, Parcel Select and Parcel Return Service.

The holiday rate increase will only apply to domestic package services and will not impact international shipping rates. Customers who purchase postage both online and at the Post Office (retail) will see the rate increase.

SUMMARY OF THE 2021 USPS HOLIDAY RATE INCREASE

Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express and Parcel Select Ground
Packages sent with Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express and Parcel Select Ground (Commercial Base) will see a holiday rate increase ranging from $0.25 to $5.00. The rate increase is based on weight of the package and distance the package is traveling to.

• 0-10 lbs. = $0.25 for Zones 1 to 4, $0.75 for Zones 5-9
• 11-20 lbs. = $1.50 for Zones 1 to 4, $3.00 for Zones 5-9
• 21-70 lbs. = $2.50 for Zones 1 to 4, $5.00 for Zones 5-9

Priority Mail Regional Rate
Packages sent with Priority Mail Regional Rate will see a holiday rate increase ranging from $0.25 to $0.75. Shipping rates will start at $7.83.

• Box A (up to 15 lbs.) = $0.25 for Zones 1 to 4, $0.75 for Zones 5-9
• Box B (up to 20 lbs.) = $0.25 for Zones 1 to 4, $0.75 for Zones 5-9

Priority Mail Flat Rate
Boxes and Envelopes sent with Priority Mail Flat Rate will see a flat $0.75 holiday rate increase. Shipping rates will start at $8.15.

Priority Mail Express Flat Rate
Envelopes sent with Priority Mail Express Flat Rate will see a flat $0.75 holiday rate increase. Shipping rates will start at $23.50.

First Class Package Service
Packages sent with First Class Package Service will see a flat $0.30 holiday rate increase for all weights and zones. Shipping rates will begin at $3.01.

Endicia customers will automatically see the new holiday rates reflected in the Endicia software beginning Oct. 3, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. Central time.
